Materials that are certified to be skin-friendly.

The materials we use are carefully selected. They are harmless to your baby & yourself. Here, too, we rely on independent testing and certification systems: All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified . This means that they are almost completely free of chemicals and therefore harmless to your skin and your baby's skin.
In addition, the materials we use are dermatologically tested by means of an epicutaneous test (also called patch test) and with the Dermatest Quality Seal "Excellent" .

EU standards

TÜV SÜD has put our stroller through its paces and certified the corresponding outstanding quality. Of course, your Bonavi complies with all European standards for baby carriages & for baby and baby articles ( DIN EN 1888 & DIN EN 1466 ). In addition, the Bonavi is designed to additionally comply with various DIN standards ( DIN EN 71-2 , DIN EN 71-3 , DIN EN 1103 & DIN EN 71-9 ), which are actually only valid for children's toys or clothing.

Generally prescribed standards: EN 1888 & EN 1466

These standards must be respected in order to distribute pushchairs and related accessories in the European area. Of course, Bonavi fulfils the following requirements.
According to the guideline DIN EN 1888 for strollers are checked among other things:

  • Standard Stroller, Materials, Construction and Stability
  • Sliders, parking brakes and locks
  • Carrying handles, removable or rotating seat units
  • Strength and durability of fasteners
  • Restraint systems and locks, strength of wheels
  • Behavior on irregular surface, dynamic strength
  • Shelf life of the marking
  • Plastic packaging and product information

The European Standard DIN EN 1466 checks carrier bags for children (eg our baby bath) and stands related to these products (ie the chassis). Checking these safety standards also ensures that there are no hazards to the child during normal use.

Certified skin friendliness of our materials

The materials we use are carefully selected. We pay particular attention to their skin compatibility and that they are safe for your baby and your health. Again, we rely on independent testing and certification systems: All our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I certified . This means that they are almost completely free of chemicals and thus safe for your skin and your baby's. In addition, the materials we use are dermatologically tested by means of an epicutaneous test (also called patch test) and with the Dermatest Quality Seal "Excellent" .

In addition, the Bonavi is designed to additionally comply with various DIN standards ( DIN EN 71-2 , DIN EN 71-3 , DIN EN 1103 & DIN EN 71-9 ), which are actually only valid for children's toys or clothing.

Additional, voluntary compliance with the toy standard: EN 71-9

The DIN EN 71-9 is normally used only on toys or parts thereof which, when used as intended, may come in contact with the skin for an extended period of time, are likely to be in the mouth, orally ingested, come into contact with the eyes or contain organic compounds, which could be inhaled. This means, for example, that this standard may refer to pacifiers or teething rings and therefore has very stringent requirements.

Normally this standard does not apply to prams, as they are of course not used as toys where children suck or suck deeply. For this reason and because of their (understandably) very strict conditions, the standard is not considered by almost all pram manufacturers.

But since your baby will spend a lot of time in his pram, we can not rule out that it also takes parts of it in the mouth, for example. At Bonavi, we want to give your baby and you the greatest possible safety, which is why we have developed our Bonavi to meet the criteria of DIN EN 71-9 for toys and co. In accordance with the strict guidelines of this standard, the Bonavi has been tested for the following chemicals and classified as safe for human health:

  • solvent
  • plasticizer
  • preservative
  • monomers
  • flame retardant
  • colorants
  • biocides

  • Processing Aids

Non-mandatory, more specific European standards: EN 71-2, EN 71-3, EN 1103

These European standards do not necessarily have to be complied with by pram manufacturers in Germany. However, because we care about your baby's safety beyond the minimum legal requirements, we have designed the Bonavi to meet these criteria without any problem.

The DIN EN 71-2 describes the requirements for the flammability of certain toys when exposed to a small ignition source. In fact, this standard applies, for example, to flammable headgear, toys to be worn on the head or soft-filled toys - but not to strollers or accessories. However, we are of the opinion that just these constant everyday companions must not be flammable in any case. That's why we've designed the Bonavi to follow these strict guidelines to give your baby and you even more security in everyday life.

The DIN EN 71-3 specifies requirements and test methods for the migration of aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, boron, cadmium, chromium (III), chromium (VI), cobalt, copper, lead, manganese, mercury, nickel, selenium, strontium, tin, organotin compounds and zinc from toy materials and toy parts. This means that these ingredients, if any, may only be present in the tested materials to a very small extent so that they are completely harmless to your baby when in contact. Of course, this is also important for the materials of the stroller, in which your child will lie day after day! That's why we've selected and tested the materials of the Bonavi so carefully that they pass all the tests of this standard without any problems and are therefore safe for your baby.

You can also read the DIN EN 1103 to check the flammability of certain materials. Namely, this standard describes a method in which the burning behaviour of clothing textiles is investigated using a surface ignition test. Not only for substances that you wear on the body, the flammability is a particularly important safety factor. Even the stroller, in which you carry your child day by day, should go through these tests - even if it is not required in Germany. This is the case with the Bonavi: He passed all tests with flying colours and complies with the standard EN 1103.
